At Kafiex Roasters, we’re on a mission to redefine your relationship with coffee. Founded and proudly based in Vancouver, Washington, our story began at local farmers markets and has grown into one of the Pacific Northwest’s most awarded specialty coffee roasters.

Led by co-founders Matthew and Seidy Selivanow, our commitment to quality, sustainability, and community has earned us national recognition—and a loyal following among both locals and travelers alike. From sourcing ethical, high-scoring beans to roasting with precision in our downtown Vancouver roastery, we strive to craft coffee experiences that are both elevated and approachable.

Our Story: From Farmers Markets to National Stage

The roots of Kafiex were planted at local farmers markets, where the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee first began to draw curious crowds. In 2018, Matthew and Seidy turned their weekend passion into a full-fledged roastery in the heart of downtown Vancouver, WA.

• Matthew, a certified Q-Arabica Grader, earned 4th place in the 2024 and 4th in the 2025 United States Roasting Championships.

• Seidy, a standout in the barista world, placed 8th in the 2024 and 7th in the 2025 United States Barista Championship.

These accolades reflect our dedication to craft, consistency, and innovation.

Today, our team roasts across three signature categories—Traditional, Modern, and Reserve—each designed to highlight the full spectrum of what coffee can be. Whether you're a long-time specialty coffee enthusiast or new to the scene, there's something here for you.

Coffee & Community: At the Heart of Vancouver WA

Kafiex isn’t just about great coffee—it’s about building community. We proudly host the annual Cold Brew Festival at Esther Short Park, an open-to-the-public event that brings together roasters, baristas, and coffee lovers from all over Washington and Oregon. It's one of the ways we stay connected to the people we serve.

We also offer coffee education, from public tastings and workshops to barista training and sustainable brewing seminars. Our goal is to make specialty coffee more inclusive, engaging, and accessible—whether you're visiting for the first time or deepening your knowledge.
