Los Andes Farm Guatemala
Owned by the Hazard family since 1945, Los Andes Farm sits on the slopes of Atitlán Volcano, Guatemala, spanning 630 hectares at altitudes between 1,000 and 1,675 meters above sea level (MASL). The farm dedicates 60% of its land to natural woods while cultivating coffee, tea, quina, macadamia, avocado, and rubber on the rest. Home to 48 families, the farm provides essential community services including a school, a clinic, and a financial cooperative. It also boasts clean energy initiatives and a program dedicated to preserving native species and biodiversity, such as the Guatemalan National Bird, El Quetzal. Olga Hazard, a founding member of the Guatemalan Women in Coffee Association, continues to drive impactful advancements in the coffee industry.
