Benti Neka – Washed Ethiopian Guji

Sourced from Benti Neka Kebele in Hambela Wamena, Guji Zone, Ethiopia, this washed Ethiopian coffee showcases the pristine terroir and meticulous processing of the region. Benti Neka is a certified organic washing station, a rarity in Ethiopia, where organic farming is widely practiced but seldom certified.

Grown at elevations between 1,900 and 2,200 MASL, this coffee is carefully hand-picked, pulped using a disc pulper, and fermented in cement tanks for 36 to 48 hours to remove mucilage. The beans are then dried for seven to nine days before being conditioned for optimal flavor development. The washed process allows the true characteristics of the coffee to shine, resulting in a clean, bright cup with vibrant acidity.

The Benti Neka washing station prioritizes traceability, using a voucher system to track each coffee lot from farm to final processing, ensuring a strong connection between farmers and the final cup.

This Grade 2 Ethiopian coffee offers a refined, tea-like body with delicate notes of honey, lemon & lime, and pear, embodying the elegance of Guji’s specialty coffee.
